Neon Colors

Fluorescent shades have already hit the fashion scene this year, hitting micro-trend status earlier this year. The catwalks of New York, London, Milan and Paris confidently championed lime green, blinding yellow, extra hot pink and flame orange. We assumed we reached peak neon back in the 80s and early 90s but apparently, we were mistaken. Lately, it seems like every designer is incorporating a touch of fluorescent brights in their collections. Neon clothes aren’t just for the runway, the privileged, or the famous. They’re immensely wearable, even in your daily wardrobe!

Here are few neon hue trends to follow this season.

Casual wear

If you’re looking for a beginner’s guide on how to style bright hues, start with a casual wear in a subtle manner. Go for one wearable item to accentuate the overall look. A bright hot pink scarf worn over a crisp kurta, a blinding yellow shalwar toned down by a beige kameez or a lime green kurta paired with white are some easy and sure ways to display casual wear.

Accessories

Handbags, belts, sunshades and sandals are a perfect way to start experimenting with neon colours. A striking neon handbag worn with a contrasting shade can complete the fashion look. It’s a great way to add some shape and add an unexpected pop of color to an otherwise more somber look.  A hot pink sandal gives a punchier feel to welcome the spring with brightness. The most recent favorite look has been a mix and match of different shades of neon colours.

Elegant evening wear

Bright colours look stunning in the darkness of the night; all the more reason to adorn the bright dresses with full aplomb. A flowing bright orange gown in simple design and cut is something bound to make heads turn. Similarly go for a bright lime green sari for that evening formal dinner paired with a black blouse. Elegant evening gowns in vivid colours are a sure way to stand out from the crowd.

Jewellery

Neon earrings in large, dramatic styles with oversized hoops are a staple for any trendy gal. Neon paired with bronze and copper are particularly considered fashionable as these complement the overall look. Cocktail rings and other costume pieces are part of the style which can be worn both during the day and as evening wear and contributes to the overall sense of confidence that are part of this decade.
