The Eye Shadow Power

The eye-shadow power

When you are trying to accentuate your eyes with the help of makeup, your eyeshadow is a vital element. Your eyes are the windows to your soul, so bringing out their color will max out your entire look.

With the multitudes of shades available in the market today, it’s important to know which one best complements your eyes, style, and look for the day. If you use the wrong one, it will conceal the beauty of your eyes and may clash with your style.

Blue Eyes:

Blue eyes belong to the cool tone family and thus warm colours will provide the best contrast to bring out the irises. For all you gorgeous blue-eyed women out there, try earthy tones, slate gray, and taupe. Use pink or rose when you want a brighter look. One thing to remember about blue eyes is to avoid using blue eye makeup because it will result in a dulling of your eyes. Apply softer, tonal shades like coral and champagne – they will catch the glint in the iris, but won’t distract. The whole point is to accentuate your eyes and make them more attractive.

Green Eyes:

When you have beautiful green eyes, try purple, mauve, violet, lilac, and plum. For a different look that works try brown with some bronze and gold specks in it. Since your eyes are already bright, there is no need to use vivid colors to enhance them. Also, avoid cool shades like blue, because they will make your eyes look washed out. To finish the look choose a brown eyeliner and mascara instead of the usual black one. It makes green eyes become more vibrant and look greenish yellow – which is a good thing. And, if you use a purple that’s dark enough, it comes off as black but still gives you the benefits of plum color.

Brown Eyes

Brown eyes are versatile and give you a blank canvas. People with brown eyes can wear almost any color and pull it off. Anything warm like a golden or reddish brown will add more depth to your eyes. If you want a dramatic look, choose dark hues. Wearing pink or green will bring out your eyes correctly and make them pop. If you choose one with metallic flecks, it will highlight any gold that may be present in your eyes. However be careful of using browns because they might make your eyes look muddy.:

Hazel Eyes: Hazel eyes have the best of the two worlds when it comes to color choices.  Hazel eyes are the middle ground between green and brown, which means you can pull off shades from both families. If you want to bring out the golden tones in your hazel eyes, use makeup that has golden undertones with a little bit of yellow in them as these will make your eyes sparkle. Experiment with light purple and pale pink when you want to accentuate the mystery in your hazel eyes or try using a shimmering version instead. To add the finishing touches, apply black eyeliner and mascara.

Gray Eyes:

Gray eyes may be one of the rarest of around, and there are so many ways that you can accentuate them. The best shades for gray eyes are ones that maximize and bring out any green, brown, or blue undertones. If you have gray eyes, smoky shades are the best for you. Choosing a similar steely hue is the best way to play up this rare eye color subtly.

Black Eyes:

Similar to light brown eyes, dark brown or black eyes offer you a fresh canvas and offer you up many choices. You have these options because black (and brown) form all the primary colors when mixed. Choose a bold hue like cobalt blue because the contrast will ensure that your eyes pop. Or try a green shade, either metallic or matte, to bring out any flecks in the brown. If you want to do something more to accentuate your lovely dark eyes, use a black eyeliner and mascara.
