Ali Sethi to sing in New York

Our very own singing sensation Ali Sethi is all set to perform at the Second Annual Pan Asia Sounding Festival in New York along with his Lahore Band. The singer took to social media to share the news with his fans and followers. Conceived and curated by the Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Du Yun, Pan Asia Sounding Festival features path breaking works by today’s Asian composers, performers, artists, and film makers that disrupt the reductive Western tendency to present Asian music and art. Commencing on March 18th, the six-day festival will conclude on March 23rd with a performance by Ali Sethi and his Lahore band. Sethi, who has trained for years with classical maestros Ustaad Naseeruddin Saami and Farida Khanum, offers a contemporary take on ghazals. The singer’s latest song Chandni Raat is also based on Saifuddin Saif’s Urdu ghazal.
