Popular Pakistani television actor Ushna Shah got married to Hamza Amin in February amid much fanfare. A plethora of Pakistani celebrities attended her wedding. While there were dance, music, and festivities to the hilt, Ushna’s crimson Lehnga contrasting with Hamza Amin’s off-white Sherwani, turned many heads. Ushna danced her heart out to show her joy. The video of her dancing with Hamza went viral and has created quite a stir. The public disliked her dance and criticized Ushna for arranging an Indian-style wedding as Shah’s dressing, set-up and various other things were giving Indian wedding vibes. According to viewers, the performances gave the vibes of an overrated concert instead of a wedding.

Shaheen & Ansha (Afridi) tie the knot

There is more to celebrate for Shaheen Shah Afridi other than his splendid performance on the ground during PSL. It is the bliss of the Nikkah that leaves him grinning on and off-ground. Married to Ansha, Shahid Afridi’s daughter in earlier February in Karachi, kicks off a great year for the player. A simple affair and plenty of blessings from his team and other cricketers including Babar Azam, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah, and Shadab Khan, as well as squash legend Jahangir Khan, leave no stone unturned.

Wasim Khan, the General Manager of the International Cricket Council, and Asim Bajwa, the former Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations, were also present at the event.

Pakistani Film Wakhri in the Limelight

Some of the Pakistanis films are making noise for superb artistic talent including The Legends of Maula Jatt and Joyland. One of the Pakistani films Wakhri is getting a global spotlight because of targeting the unspoken issue of our society. It is the first-ever Pakistani project to get recognition at Cannes, also known as ‘One of a Kind’. It stars Faryal Mehmood, Gulshan Majeed, Shees Saji Gul, Akbar Islam, Bakhtawar Mazhar, Sohail Sameer, Saleem Mairaj, Tooba Siddiqui and other social media influencers. Iram Parveen Bilal has directed the film. Wakhri revolves around an unapologetic, misfit, and bold schoolteacher who goes through social media bullying and modern-day female oppression.

Farasat Anees accuses T-Series

T-Series has recently come under lashing from Pakistani musician Farasat Anees who is accusing the music giant of plagiarising his song ‘BIBA,’ which was featured in the film Joyland. With great support from fans in both India and Pakistan, his emails to T-Series have fallen on deaf ears. In his post, Anees shared bits of both songs for people to compare and called it a ‘disgrace’ that T-Series is stealing his work because it has been trending in the world. He further clarified that this is the hard work of his brother and him and T-Series should feel shameful for ruining every good song from Pakistan.

Actor Hadiqa Kiani took it upon herself last year to help rebuild villages in flood-hit areas of Balochistan and she is in the process of delivering on her promise. The singer-turned-actor is happy to state that the first phase of her project is complete, which consists of infrastructural reconstruction. Sharing developments of her work on social media, she confirmed that she has been in Balochistan lately and has been able to complete the first phase of the project which means that one hundred houses are complete and now occupied along with one maternity clinic, one grocery store, and one primary school.

HSY on Women’s right

Rehana, named after the designer HSY’s mother is the name of the new collection launched on Women’s Day. On social media, HSY called it bold and beautiful, giving tribute to lots of women in Pakistan who are struggling hard and are ‘courageous’ to make it work. He has curated an ‘affordable’ festive collection, explaining that he believes every woman has the right to look beautiful. As per HSY, his collection is for every woman, who are all courageous and beautiful. He commented that in these hard times, it is very important to remember what is important in life — the true meaning of appreciating the women’s role in our society.

Safe and Sound

Actors Muneeb Butt and Aiman Khan have had a rough couple of days. Half of their house collapsed due to a sewerage line explosion recently leaving Aiman Khan with minor injuries. Videos of the damaged part of their home have been all over social media. Butt has now revealed that though everyone escaped unscathed, they were well and recovering. He thanked fans for their love and prayers. This unfortunate incident in mid-February left the couple shocked. The explosion was caused by the accumulation of gases in the sewerage lines. Aiman suffered minor injuries caused by shards of glass while their house helped suffered burns. All is well and under control now.
