Admired playback singer who was conferred with the title of “Bulbul e Pakistan” passed away at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness. Nayyara Noor was awarded Presidential Pride of Performance in 2006 and also honored with the Nigar award in 1973.

Nayyara Noor was one of the top playback singers in the country with no musical background she also had no formal training in the field of music however she proved her God-gifted singing talents all over the subcontinent. In her entire career as a singer, Nayara Noor received a lot of praise and respect from the people.

In a versatile career full of iconic songs, she will always be remembered for her renditions of work by Pakistan’s famous revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. She also sang some of Pakistan’s patriotic tunes including Sohni Dharti, Wattan Ki Mitti Gawah Rehna as well as numerous songs for Pakistani dramas & films.

Nayyara Noor’s name is not only confined to the older generation but she has always been famous among the younger lot as well who have seen her as an inspiration. Her death has created a void that nobody could fill, Nayyara Noor may have passed away but her legacy will live on.
