Pakistani music producer Sharif Awan has been honored with three gold awards at the Global Music Awards (GMAs) in California for his work on “Music in Covid Times.” The GMAs recognize exceptional artistry, technique, and talent across various music genres, encompassing jazz, classical, fusion, folk, and modern music. As per a press release, the record, produced by the Tehzeeb Foundation, secured victories in multiple categories at the GMAs, including creativity/originality, best album, and best producer. The Tehzeeb Foundation’s primary project, “Indus Raag — Beyond Borders,” had previously earned a gold award at the GMAs in 2016 and was acknowledged as one of the top ten albums of the year.
