SKIN CARE TIPS FOR WINTERS

As winter is just around the corner, the freezing breezes cause skin roughness, cracks, and dryness. The harsh weather of the cold season can be damaging, uncomfortable, and downright painful, so you need to put in some extra effort to keep your skin healthy and glowing. Here are the simple ways in which you can take care of your skin during the winter.

MOISTURIZER

MOISTURIZER

To prevent your face from dryness, keep it well moisturized. You need to keep your skin smooth and supple, even during winter and moisturizers are the perfect solution. Especially in winter use oil-based moisturizer that can seal water inside your skin and prevent it from stiffness.

LIP BALM

The cardinal rule of winter lip care is to keep your skin as hydrated as possible. Chapped lips in winter can be extremely painful during cold days but fortunately preventing them is not a difficult task. Apply a generous amount of lip balm that also contains SPF. Avoid constant licking of lips because it causes them to lose moisture and makes them dry.

STAY HYDRATED

In winter low humidity is most likely to strip our poor skin of its moisture. No matter how cold it is outside, don’t forget to drink at least 7-8 glasses of water throughout the day, we often forget to drink enough water but this can affect your skin adversely.

FACEMASK

During winter many of us are dealing with flaky skin, while there is no permanent solution for it but just to avoid the roughness and dryness of the face there are plenty of pick me up masks readily available that work wonders to improve skin textures. The weather can be cruel but homemade masks give your skin a fresh look.

GREASE UP YOUR FEET

Usually, most of us don’t care about our feet as compared to our facial skin. Along with the face and hands, our feet also need good care. In the cold season try to keep greasing your feet with a lotion that contains petroleum jelly and glycerin. Use exfoliants to get the dead skin off periodically.

REDUCE THE USE OF TONERS

If you are among those who have open pores and use toner every day on your face, this is the time for you to re-evaluate your skincare routine. The alcohol content of a toner dries out your face and makes it feel tight and itchy, and even causes wrinkles.
